Donate to Our Collection

The Ulysses Historical Society collects items that help tell the story of Ulysses and the surrounding area, generally encompassing the Trumansburg school district. Our collection includes objects, photographs, and documents that reflect the people, places, and events that shaped our town.

What We Collect

We welcome historical items with a local connection, such as:

  • Objects from everyday domestic life, government, business, organizations, etc.

  • Photographs

  • Letters, diaries, and family papers

  • Business, school, church, or club records

  • Maps, genealogies, and other printed materials

  • Oral histories and recorded memories

What We Cannot Accept

To ensure we can care properly for every donation, we generally cannot take:

  • Items unrelated to the local area

  • Objects in poor or unsafe condition

  • Materials with unclear ownership or legal restrictions

  • Large items we cannot store or display

Questions about Donating?

If you have materials you believe belong in the UHS collection, please contact us. We welcome conversations about donations and are grateful for your help in preserving our shared history.
