Libbie Wilson's Journals, 1873-1923

UHS President Rodney Bent will give a talk about our newest publication: a transcription and annotation of excerpts from the diaries of Libbie Wilson. Libbie worked and lived with her husband, Asa Wilson, on their farm on Durling Road for about 60 years, beginning in the 1860s. Her journal covers the period between 1873 and 1923, recording the Wilson family’s daily routines and revealing details about rural life as the world moved from horse-drawn carriages and kerosene lamps to automobiles and electricity.
